Today is a little different. I think most of us awoke to the news of another devastating earthquake in the southern hemisphere - this one in Chile. As I type this there are tsunami warnings for most of the Pacific region. It's a huge area that is under threat of disaster. Pray for all of the people who live in those areas and especially for Chile.
It's no coincidence that God told me a week ago that this song was going to be this week's "song for saturday". It fits perfectly with the events of today but also it is a very special song to me. I have listened to this song while in the deepest trials and pain. I have sung it out loud on purpose, through gritted teeth so the devil could hear me sing it - one time standing in my house when the water had been turned off because we couldn't pay our bill and didn't have a clue where the money would come from. During those dark days, I had to choose to believe the words of this song even though I didn't feel like it. I had to will myself to keep fighting and running to the finish, like this verse says:
1 Corinthians 9:24-26
24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25Everyone
who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get
a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last
forever. 26Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.
The bottom line is - no matter the heartache, no matter the season, God is always God. He is worth it. He is the reason we worship.
BE BLESSED TODAY - no matter the situation, God is there.
Today there are two videos to watch. Make sure you watch them in order.
